KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Treasury has implemented a new provincial supplier’s database system in order to address several shortcomings of the previous database system as raised by the respective provincial departments.
Consequently, all registered suppliers were requested to re-register on the new system with effect from 01 May 2010 by completing the newly revised version of ZNT31 application form dated May 2010. In September 2010 the new suppliers database system was installed and the processing of applications thereon, has commenced.
Kindly note that you will be able to access both the old supplier’s database and the new supplier’s database systems as the new system is not fully populated and some search results may be incomplete. It is advisable that the supplier be checked against both the old and the new database systems in order to determine whether a new database registration number has been issued for that supplier. In which case , the new database number immediately replace the previous database number.
It is also important to note that suppliers who have submitted their application forms for registration onto the new supplier’s database system, but have not yet been issued with a new database registration number, be allowed to continue with the use their previous (old) database registration number; until they are issued with a new number. The process of issuing new suppliers database numbers is a lengthy one and in view thereof, the department will continue with the issuing of temporary supplier’s database numbers for suppliers who are registering onto the supplier’s database for the first time.
The format of the temporary database number is as follows: KZNyyyymmddPT0000 where the date of issue will be inserted after KZN and a sequence number as per the register maintained by this department, will follow the PT.
